Sheila Dikshit - she's done it again!!!!

She does not falter, does she. She is consistent, if nothing else. She has done it again - put her foot in her mouth again.....BIG TIME!!!!!
She says even boys should not go out unescorted after 9pm!!! Such is the state of her state that she thinks all of us should travel with escorts / people after 9pm!!!! For God's sake, 9pm is fairly early. What comes out of her statement is that Delhi is sooooooooooo unsafe that NO ONE should venture out alone. V should all sit at home or in 'safe' confines. Incompetency, thy name is politicians. They cannot ensure our safety so they ask us to curb our freedom.
Will she or others be exhorting people to stop moving out as terrorists are planting bombs everywhere??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the difference between such politicians / heads of states and those who blame women for being raped, murdered for being murdered and so on.........
SO, if u happen to live in Delhi, please give away yr right to freedom as the protectors cannot protect you.

Sheila Dikshit is AMAZING

HOW can the CM make such an arbritary & irresponsible comment on the murder of Soumya.

Does she mean all the women who venture out of homes at late hours for work or entertaintment r being adventorous & foolhardy?? How can she make such a statement from the safe confines of her office??????? since the Govt (whichever - central or Delhi) has not been able to do anything abt the safety of its citizens, these ministers assume a right to make rash statements like this. Did she say that the blast victims should have stayed at home in order to escape being burst??? She has been putting her foot in her mouth quite often. She did that once before when 7 persons were mowed down by a blueline near Minto bridge. Hide yr incompetency by being offensive.
Leave alone her being a woman, even a man should not have made such an insensitive statement .

Are women not humans enough to get this basic right to freedom, in the eyes of these politicians?

Her statement becomes doubly wrong as she is a woman and she is speaking like an unenlightened person who puts the blame of a wrongdoing on the victim and not the perpretator!!! She has done so much for the city, it is really sad to c her putting her foot in her mouth ever so often.

We women deserve better.

Wat say. I await comments from fellow bloggers.

The trust vote

Thank God, they won. The Govt won the trust vote, ie. And, thank the lord more that Madam Mayawati did not come into the active fray for the post of the PM.

Even the good lord would not have been able to help India, if she had become the PM!!!!!!!! The country would have gone to the dogs, she and her partymen would have been richer and richer and.......... and India might have started resembling one of those countries where the rulers are rich & the public is poor. And, of course, we from the 'General Categories' would have had to scoot from the country as we would have not got jobs. And, imagine a situation where the other countries would make stricter immigration laws and people from the general categories would not be allowed to / would find it difficult to go to those countries as well!!!!!!!

Oh, for the trust vote. Let us hope we get younger leaders now. We do not need these over the hill leaders who don't understand the changing times and live by the age old antiquated moralities.

Arushi case

After an anormous brouhaha over the murders and murderers...the young girls' life...the role of the servant ....now there is silence on who the real killers are. CBI has said that the three servants did it, but nevertheless have not confirmed it. The father is out, but who did it and why was he blamed?? Will the CBI finally confirm who the killers r???? Or will they let it hang? Where are the weapons? Where are the mobiles? What was the role of Hemraj? Why was the father arrested in the first place? Why was there an allegation of an affair which led to the killing? Why did the police cook up stories or why did they just made a statement based on what a servant told them, without verifying the facts? How could they be so callous? And, why has the police officer who mishandled the case been promoted?

Why did the media do, what they did?
Can we expect no justice when there is a problem? And, now the CM who used a case like this to make a statement / hold a press conference (she does not have better things to do, I guess), is touted to be the PM?????!!!!!!!!!

Miracle boy - Supratim Dutta

Miracles....when they happen, u don't know whom to attribute them to. Luck or something else.

This boy - Supratim Dutta, the way he has been saved, what with the rod in him for over 2 hrs!!! And, his grit. Also, must praise the presence of mind of the cops who came, the colleague & the welder - all of whom cut the rod. What they must have gone through - one wrong stroke and a human life at stake. Bravo. And, kudos to the company HCL, which is paying for his treatment, even though he is technically not its employee. Wish all companies were like this. Amazing.

My best wishes and prayers for the boy. May he recover soon.

Money...money honey

Money rules the roost....and it is tough to hold on to it!!!!

How to get more money and make more money? How to save? How to ensure u don't need more than what u get and have.... Money to buy a house, money to buy food, money to buy clothes, money to buy almost everything!!!! Sab paise ka khel hai bhaiya. :)

Social networks ..... R the people for real??

Are the profiles / people on social networking sites for real?? Even the sites carry a warning to 'accept friends' from those people whom u know or are friends of friends. It is so difficult to gauge the genuineness of any person on the net. How do u know that the person whom u r talking about the issues of the world is a real person, is a man when he claims to be one and not a woman hiding her identity? Or vice versa.
How do u judge?
And, what about the many friendship offers one keeps on getting? How safe is it to upload photographs?
And, is it not boring to to be talking to people on net, without seeing them? And, then to able to only post scraps, write messages....can u have a full conversation?
Orkut, Facebook, Yaari.com, linkedin, Flickr, batchmates.com, tagged.com, WAYN....... The list is endless. ..

I keep on getting invites to join one or another almost 2-3 times a month from some friend or the other. I have joined some to check what they are, but I muct confess, I have not been a regular and have failed to update my posts and profiles.

Houses in Delhi ....India

Houses are sooooooooooooo expensive these days!!!!!!! Impossible to buy. The real estate prices have skyrocketed. THe realty boom (??) has marked a pall of gloom for the middle class. The prices of houses have shot up by double in the last six months, or the landlords are just going crazy. In Delhi, in places like Dwarka or even the outskirts of Dwarka towads Dabri Mor, the prices of the houses - sold through owners, have literally doubled in the last six months. The middle classes like us cannot take houses in areas of our choice. Only if we agree to go out of Delhi towards Ghaziabad or even further, can we get houses that we can buy - even with housing loans.

And, the housing loans are another story....the rate of interest!!! Gawd.

What does one do in this scenario?

movies...movies....

Movies r fun. Only if they make some sense. Even a comedy which does not need one to make use of ones grey cells is a fun. But, as long as the movie is not degrading to anybody in the name of fun, it is fine. No discrimination. No taming of the shrew (read heroines)....then it is good fun. Chupke Chupke - amazing. Jaane bhi do yaaron - fabulous. Both r landmarks in their own right. Unbeatable.

Arushi....

Thanks for replying Ms Sheeley.
Well...what the respective groups learn out of this - the media & law makers & enforcers....is, open to speculation. The learning usually is not much , doesn't show & the lessons learnt vanish out of the window with another similar sensational story. TRPs can be increased in other ways, as well!! Amen to the hope of justice being served and souls to rest in peace.

Arushi ....national news???!!!!!!!

The poor girl who was killed - Arushi....may her soul rest in peace. She has been killled, her servant has been killed....whodunnit??? has become the national news, overshadowing other news. Some say that it is because the father is suspected to have killed her...what happens to other honour killing cases where the killers admit it openly, those cases of rapes & murders happening everywhere in India in the name of religion, honour....India, the so called loving country, has no love to offer.

Why has this one news taken over our dinner time, drawing room conversation? Why is the media indulging in unethical practices - interviewing people from her phone book, highlighting her messages....they are putting those people under danger & breaching the privacy of the dead & alive......as also hindering the investigations & alerting the guilty. And also, committing breach of privacy. No body is stopping them.

The hypocricy of the Indian society is also coming to fore - a young girl who was havig fun, was in love, was branded characterless!!!!!!!!! Why do me measure character only by sex. Vinod Dua had raised this very question. The incompetency of the police has also come to fore.

But, all said and done, should not the other equally / more horrendous cases get equal attention? The honour killings, the gender killings, female infanticides, child marriages, rapes, murders, corruption.......should get national attention.

Just solve the case and let her rest in peace.

What say???

India calling....aha!

I was speaking with a friend today. We got on discussing how the issues become so politicised that the real issues get pushed back. Be it the Arushi murder case, the criticism of smoking by Shah Rukh Khan & also of drinking by our own lovable King Khan...How these politicians use these smoke screens to push the more critical issues underneath the carpet. Does Mr Ramadoss know what is happening in AIIMS, what is the state of the medical facilities in the country....does he think of ways of getting more private players involved in the health industry, does he think of increasing the reach of medical insurance??? NO. He thinks where he can get more publicity and targets King Khan. By the noise he made of Khans' habits of smoking and his movies, people who might not have noticed his smoking before, sat up and noticed. Maybe now, more youngsters will get influenced. If he is soooooo worried about the youngsters, why does he not do something about the abysymmal rate of infant mortality in India?????

Blogs for online marketing / advertising / promotion

Hey......I am still waiting for some guidance on use of blogs in advertising / marketing / promotion....Please help.

Monday, May 26, 2008

Blogging....aha!!

I am a new blogger...still trying to grapple with what blogging is all about. Help!! Can somebody guide me as to how to promote a blog? How do I get more people to see my blog? Do I resort to the online marketing space or put the blog ID on my e-mail signature? Or else, just wait for some kind soul to answer me!!

When u go on links for local search / online search, one does get links to blogs, but the links do not always answer the queries.

Is blogging just a recreational tool? Is it as popular a marketing (online marketing) & promotion tool, as it is claimed?

I do await some responses. Those who want to give non-serious replies - thank u but no thank u.
